Hawkes Bay is located on the our East Coast of our North Island and renowned for its mild winters and hot summers with a climate not similar to the Mediterranean.Its also the region where you will Napier, our Art Deco City, with its beautiful Art Deco and Architectural Buildings. At 2.00pm Daily you can take an Art Deco Walking Tours for a 2 hour walk on the flat and well recommended.
 
Each year there is an awesome Art Deco Weekend  held in Napier, you can hire Art Deco clothes to get in the mood of the era and dance the night away to great Jazz Bands. 
 
The Hawkes Bay Region has a wide range of wineries that offer tastings and wine tours, some offer cafe's and restaurants serving regional food that only adds to the experience.
 
Sadly Napier suffered a devastating Earthquake in 1931, this causing major damage to the City, however with determination of  residents of Napier pulled together to rebuild the City. Today it shines with everything Art Deco and Bursting with Pride are the residents who give a warm welcome to those who visit Napier to see and enjoy the Art Deco experience. The Beach offers a place to relax with its Golden Sands and the perfect place to have family time,
 
Visit Te Mata Peak and take in the views, the peak is 400 Meters High. 
 
During Captain Cook visit of 1769 to the region his Cabin Boy was kidnapped and thus he named the area today known as Cape Kidnappers after this boy. This area is also the location of the World's largest Gannet Colony. said to be the largest in the World.

Frasertown

The small settlement of Frasertown has a long history of past as was were an Armed Constabulary was located. The Main Store of Frasertown is the perfect place to stop for a refreshment, or visit Frasertown Tavern.

Wairoa

Wairoa is the nearest town to The Te Urewera National Park, the perfect place for Fishing and relaxing as well as Hiking.

The Local Museum offers a great insight into Local Maori History and that of the Europeans. East of Wairoa are wetland where birds lovers enjoy the Whakaki Lagoon.

Napier

Napier is our Art Deco City located on the East Coast of our North Island and is is testament to the beautiful era of Art Deco. Sadly in 1931 the Earthquake devastated the City but today rebuilt and restored you can enjoy touring the Art Deco Buildings. Why not take a Guided Walking Tour departs Daily from the Information Center in Tennyson Street. Each year there is an Art Deco Weekend, where everyone dresses in costumes of the Period and everything from Music to Vehicles is the splendor of Art Deco period. For information on future events

Hastings

Hastings has some beautiful Architecture to explore, as with Napier the City was devastated by the Earthquake of 1931. The City was rebuilt in the style of the day with a Spanish Mission and Art Deco flair for you to enjoy.

The area surrounding is where you will find local Wineries and Orchard Growers. During the summer its always a joy to explore the many roadside stalls to purchase local produce to enjoy during your vacation.

Havelock North

Cape Kidnappers

Cape Kidnappers is famed for one of the largest Gannet Colonies in New Zealand where you can view these magnificent birds and from the beach you can view the Black Reef Colony.
