I was born and raised in the San Francisco Bay Area and was an international seafood trader. One of the countries I traded with was New Zealand which lead me to meet my Kiwi husband. After a year of living in New Zealand doing everything from installing computer systems to working in an accounting office I came to realize that all I really wanted to do was share this amazing country with others thus New Zealand Encounters was born in 1996..
Favourite New Zealand destination and why?
Can’t narrow it down to one! One would be Milford Sound first thing on a clear August morning when there is no one else around but me and the majesty of the Sound. Another would be in the water at Kaikoura surrounded by dolphins or cruising on a boat around Great Mercury Island off The Coromandel. All of these are places that I wish everyone could experience.
Most memorable request from a client?
Years ago a client loved her time swimming with dolphins so much that she called and asked me to book an appointment so she could commemorate the moving event with a tattoo!
