Life before New Zealand Encounters?
I have lived in the North and South island, starting my life in Stratford, Taranaki where I lived for the first 12 years of my life. I then moved to Auckland; quite a difference for a country girl. From there I went to Nelson where I raised my daughter and son who are both adults now. My daughter has since given me the pleasure of being a grandmother of two. From Nelson I moved back to Hamilton in the North Island where I had a varied work career from retail to insurance and finally a power company. I then moved to the beautiful, calm, stress free Mercury Bay. In Whitianga I worked for a company who market an online reservation system for B&B's for 2 and ½ years before joining the great team at New Zealand Encounters and Travel.
Favourite New Zealand destination and why?
Of course living in Nelson for 10 years I have to say that this is definitely one of my favourite destinations. I also love the far north. Where do I start? Opua, Paihia, Russell and Kerikeri? The beautiful beaches, abundant bush and bird life, orchards and of course the friendly people who welcome you everywhere you go.
